The Spaceships of Ezekiel (1974) is a book by Josef F. Blumrich written while he was chief of NASA’s systems layout branch of the program development office at the Marshall Space Flight Center.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] In it he asserts that Ezekiel’s account in the Bible was not a description of a meeting with God in a prophetic vision, but a description of several encounters with ancient astronauts in ashuttlecraft from another planet.
Ezekiel was an Old Testament prophet who wrote about several visions he had in which he said God showed him the future and gave him various messages to deliver. Ezekiel describes seeing God riding in a chariot-like vehicle attended by angels.
Blumrich analyzes six[9] different translations of the Bible in conjunction with his experience in engineering and presents one possible version of the story as seen by a modern, technological society. In the appendices to his book he presents technical specifications of his hypothesized spacecraft.
Blumrich also published an article on his belief, “The spaceships of the prophet Ezekiel” in the UNESCO journal Impact of Science on Society.[10]
Are there UFO’s in the Bible?Could angels be ET’s?I think it is plausible.I don’t think the theory is any more far fetched than anything else,or any other view in the Bible.
The word “Heaven is a translation from the Hebrew word “shamayim”which is defined as “the sky”.The word “sky” is only mentioned a few times in the bible.Anything that comes from the sky in the Bible-wind,rain,fire hail, chariots, etc all come from the “heavens”.
You need to rember that in the 1600′s that the Bible was translated for King James of England. He was part of the Royal court. They spoke a very formal version of English. You was thee, raiment was clothing, the sky was heaven. So in almost every case Heaven meant the sky,not the pearly gates.
We also need to keep in mind that at the time of the writings in the Bible there were airplanes, jets satellites,or weather ballons. There were no street lights or neon lights to dull the sky.So we must assume that that the descriptions are fairly accurate.
These are a few times that UFO’s may have been mentioned.
Genesis 15:17…..
A Glowing Object Passes Over
15:17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
This is the first indication that a glowing, flying object is associated with the Elohiym. The word ‘passed’ is more properly rendered ‘passed over’. Furnace = fire pot. Smoking = vapor. Lamp = shining. Burning = fire. So, what is being said is that something resembling a shining, vaporous firepot passed over after dark.
Genesis 19:24…..
19:24 Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.
Yhovah drops fiery substances and objects from the sky as a means of destruction. These acts are recorded many times in Biblical text. The word ‘brimstone means sulphur or sulphur-like, obviously relating to the burning effect of the substance.
Leviticus 9:24……..
9:24 And there came a fire out from before the Lord, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
A fire-like beam comes from Yhovah and consumes the alter and everything on it.
These are just a few of the things found in the Bible. There are also “dark objects”,”spinning objects”and “chariots”.There is also “in flight “,”hovering,”desending” and so forth.
Now is all this some mystical force of God?Are they UFO’s ?Is God an alien? Are angels really aliens.I think it is a possiblity. It certainly is not any more far fetched than anything else in the Bible.
